More than THREE decades of experience in one family-owned company

About

Hoey Construction Company was founded in 1979 by Paul Hoey, Sr. in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Father of eight children, he raised his family with great work ethic and compassion for others and their community. Paul carried that same philosophy in his business by focusing on quality construction and strong personal relationships with clients and subcontractors. It was not uncommon to have his sons working construction sites during the summer and school breaks starting at an early age. It was no big surprise that two sons, Michael and Philip, later found themselves actively running the company, a dream come true for Paul Sr.

Michael and Philip Hoey took ownership of the company in 2002 before the passing of their father in May 2004.

Michael and Philip are both instrumental in every facet of the day-to-day operations of the organization and continue to operate with emphasis on quality construction, strong personal and business relationships and building on the Hoey legacy in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and other geographical areas of the country.

Each partner offers a unique background and different experiences in business as well as in the construction industry. Together, Michael and Philip make a dynamic force in leading the company into the future. With a great staff and team, HCC looks forward to the opportunities that lie ahead in building for their future and yours.

“Work was complete on time and on budget. We would hire Hoey Construction again. They had very detailed paperwork and valued engineering. This was a solid partnership.”

HCC LEADERSHIP

Meet Michael Hoey

Michael Hoey began working on his father’s construction sites as a laborer and carpenter foreman. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1989 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management. For 20 years following graduation, he gained additional experience working for large construction firms in Atlanta, Georgia, ranging from estimating and project management to his role as an Owner’s Representative to Group Vice President.

Michael’s extensive construction experience in healthcare includes St. Mary’s Hospital, Cobb General Hospital, Egleston Children’s Hospital, Northeast Georgia Heart Center and Sunrise Assisted Living Centers to name a few.

In addition, Michael brings a strong mix of construction experience in other areas such as schools and universities, hotels, churches and office buildings of all sizes. His experience is vast in both renovation projects and new construction.

After hours, he’s cheering his daughters on in basketball or caddying for them in golf tournaments. Mike plays soccer and golf (had to give up the rougher sports as he’s gotten older). He gives back to the community by sponsoring and hosting the Oklahoma Families First foster parent and child event, serving on the Board with Tulsa Route 66 Main Street and volunteering at their fundraising events.

Meet Phil Hoey

Phil Hoey began his career in construction at the age of 16 as a laborer, carpenter and drywall installer with Hoey Construction Company and worked with his father until he graduated from college. After graduation, he relocated to Springfield, Missouri, to work for Frito-Lay as a sales associate, moving up the corporate ladder to sales manager and managing accounts totaling $23 million in sales per year. Phil rejoined HCC in 2000, and brought with him a wide range of sales and marketing experience, an asset to the growth of the company.

Phil has successfully managed a wide variety of projects including the new construction of Lucent Technologies Call Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Thales Training and Simulation Facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Phil’s experience in interior renovations includes multiple franchise stores for restaurants such as Tin Star, Bellacino’s and Moe’s Southwest Grill in Oklahoma and other parts of the country including Texas, Colorado, Nevada and Georgia.

In his free time, you may find Phil cheering on his children’s sporting events, playing soccer or hunting. Phil and his family are active in their church and oftentimes participating in community volunteer programs.
